Stephen B. Payne, Jr.
Chairman of the Board

Mr. Payne co-founded Heritage Trust in 1997 where he served as compliance officer and asset manager until 2004 when he was named chairman of the board. Prior to Heritage Trust, Mr. Payne was employed with Marlin Oil Corporation as a land man, and before that, he served as a national recruiter for the Oklahoma Department of Commerce. Mr. Payne holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Vanderbilt University.

In addition to his role with Heritage, Mr. Payne also plays a role in numerous nonprofit organizations. He serves as a director and executive committee member of the Oklahoma Heritage Association and the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, a trustee and investment committee member of the OSU Foundation, a director of the Oklahoma Health Center Foundation and is an appointee to the EDGE Policy Board.

Mr. Payne and his wife Lori have two children, Ellen and Anna. In his spare time, he enjoys golf, hiking and college athletics.
