R. Ligon
Duke R. Ligon is currently
strategic advisor to Love’s Travel Stops &
Country Stores, Inc., and the Love’s Entrepreneurship
Center of Oklahoma City University. Prior to joining
Love’s, Mr. Ligon retired as senior vice president
and general counsel for Devon Energy Corporation (NYSE:
DVN) effective January 31, 2007. He brought more than
35 years of legal expertise in corporate securities,
litigation, governmental affairs and mergers and acquisitions.
Prior to joining Devon in 1997,
Mr. Ligon practiced law for 12 years and last served
as a partner at the law firm of Mayer, Brown &
Platt in New York City. In addition, he was senior
vice president and managing director for investment
banking at Bankers Trust Co. in New York City for
10 years. Ligon also served for three years in various
positions with the U.S. Departments of the Interior
and Treasury as well as the Department of Energy.
Ligon received an undergraduate degree in chemistry
from Westminster College and a law degree from the
University of Texas School of Law.
